French design school Espera Sbarro has released sketches and details of its creation for this year’s Geneva motor show: the Sbarro React EV concept.
Designed to run in next month’s Monte Carlo New Energy Rally, it took 30 students just 13 weeks to take the React EV from the drawing board to race-ready form.
The deceptively named Sbarro React EV (where ‘EV’ stands for ‘Ecological Vehicle’) is actually a hybrid rather than a pure electric vehicle. The concept teams a PSA Peugeot-Citroen-sourced 157kW V6 petrol engine with a 24kWh battery pack and two 100kW/750Nm electric motors positioned inside the front wheels.
A five-speed manual transmission sends power from the petrol engine to the rear wheels.
