Overview
Historically known as Xiangshan, Zhongshan is the hometown of Mr. Sun Yat-sen. Located in the central south of Pearl River Delta and on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary, adjacent to Macao and Hong Kong, Zhongshan boasts a permanent population of 3.12 million, covering an area of 1,783.67 square kilometers.
Development Goals & Positioning
With the development of "one hub, two bases and three experimental fields" as its strategic positioning, Zhongshan aims to build itself into an important transportation hub connecting three economic circles within Pearl River Delta area, an advanced coastal manufacturing base, an important service industry base on the West bank of the estuary of the Pearl River, experimental field for national comprehensive reform in balancing urban and rural development, experimental field for national innovative examination and approval reform and experimental field for upgrading Guangdong's industrial clusters. Zhongshan will spare no effort in building a harmonious homeland for its citizens, with a developed economy, harmonious society, and full-fledged law, splendid culture, beautiful environment, well-off life, and collaborative development of urban and rural areas. Known as "China Lighting Capital", Guzhen is located in the northwest of Zhongshan City and is adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao SARs. Covering a total area of 47.8 square kms, it has a population of about 70,000 registered local residents and over 100,000 immigrants. Guzhen has long been an ideal destination for foreign investment as well as trade and economic cooperation.

Guzhen is well-known as "China Lighting Capital"
The first China (Guzhen) International lighting Fair was successfully held in 1999. After years of efforts, it has become the largest and the most professional lighting fair in China.
There are in Guzhen over 4,000 lighting enterprises, and more than 80,000 people are engaged in this industry.
The lighting industry output totaled 17.3 billion RMB in 2010, accounting for over 60 percent of the domestic market. The products have been sold around China and exported to over 130 countries and regions all over the world.
There is a 10km lighting business street with nearly 3600 lighting shops, and relevant organizations and associations have been established to serve the lighting industry.
"Guzhen Lighting"industrial chain located in the core of Guzhen town, expanding to other towns such as Henglan, Xiaolan, Jiangmen Hetang and Waihai. The industrial chain is rising to prosperous and has became a huge industrial cluster, the production value reach nearly 100 billion RMB.
