Miami International Airport (MIA) has put added a rainbow of light and sound to one of their average walkthrough corridors. In fact, over the years you may have found that many airports are updating those drab hallways with exciting new decor. Artistic lighting designs, museum and historical displays, statues, and large art exhibits have made airports much more enjoyable. In 2011, the MIA refreshed one of their open walkways with a special exhibit created by a well known architect with an inept ability to combine harmonistic sound and light displays into everyday spaces.

The 'Harmonic Convergence' installation was designed by the work of american sound architect Christopher Janney. It is an interactive sound and light installation that uses light, color, and sound to help travelers release the stresses on their way to the rental car terminal or to the airport terminal.

Speakers are scattered throughout the corridor proving a rain of sound that mimics a 'sonic portrait' of South Florida sounds of like tropical birds, thunderstorms, and other native sounds to the region. During the daylight hours the natural sunlight propels the rainbow light reflections indoors. The dark evening hours require extra lighting that consist of a series of computer-controlled LED lights.
