INSA has taken the classic retro bubble chair and gave it a surreal makeover with color, patterns, and light. Using LED lights, this chair’s illumination may not necessarily look like that classic reading nook. Instead INSA’s focus lies elsewhere when creating products and projects. “INSA’s world is one where art, product, graffiti, fetishism, and desire collide.”

A passion for high heels, combined with a collaborative effort with the Rousseau design firm has resulted in this contemporary light and furniture piece. Created in 2008 to be a part of the Designersblock show in London, this chair featured INSA’s trademark (a woman in high heels), complimented by an electroluminescent set-up. The acrylic bubble, stainless steel ring and fittings were engraved with INSA’s artwork and accented with an undoubtedly comfy white alpaca fur cushion.
