Hyundai Motor Plans to Recall About 27,500 Genesis Sedans in The Us

South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor is set to recall about 27,500 Genesis sedans in the US in a move to address a potential brake issue.

The move is in response to the US safety regulators announcement, which states that they will investigate an estimated 40,000 Genesis cars from model year 2009.

This recall will be followed by recalls of the vehicle in South Korea and other markets.

Vehicles affected under this recall were built from 1 April 2008, through 16 March 2012. The company will replace the brake fluid of the vehicles.

Hyundai will notify the owners of the affected vehicles through a mail starting November 2013.

Owners will be instructed to bring their cars to Hyundai dealers for brake inspections and changing of the brake fluid with replacement fluid containing an anticorrosive additive. There will be no cost to the owners.
