Demargro Uses Sprayed Plastic Bags in Place of Traditional Bags

Belgium-based Demargro BVBA, which specializes in processing and packaging fresh leeks, has replaced the traditional 'net bags' for leeks with a bag with those of 'sprayed plastic’.

Demargro BVBA manager Guy Meyer said they had pioneered in the development of new packaging and packaging methods for leeks, according to freshplaza.com.

"We also have leeks in normal packaging. We supply leeks in 5 kg and 10 kg EPs boxes, EPs folding boxes, ifco boxes, carton boxes of wooden crates. Demargro sells leeks throughout Europe with subsidiary BFC NV," Meyer said.

They personalized bags with their logos/details for each customer, owing to the modernization of the machines.

Demargro cuirrently has three packaging machines for leeks, where they can pack around 33 bags per minute.

Demargro also sells the rest of the fruit and vegetable range besides leek.
