Mack Trucks Has Announced Its Plans to Invest $26m for The Renovation

American truck manufacturer Mack Trucks has announceD its plans to invest $26m for the renovation of its Macungie Cab & Vehicle Assembly facility in Macungie, Pennsylvania, US.

Under the project, the manufacturer plans to significantly improve the plant's efficiency and deliver better quality trucks to Mack customers.

The project includes realignment of sub-assembly and material handling to increase efficiency and support main vehicle assembly lines.

Mack Trucks vice president and general manager Roger Johnston said the investment speaks to the company's commitment to operational excellence.

"Our highly engaged workforce will use these enhancements to take another step in our journey toward truly world-class manufacturing in Macungie," Johnston added.

The renovation project will also see implementation of new processes and installation of new equipment to improve the plant's post-production inspection and testing of completed vehicles.

Mack Trucks North American Sales & Marketing president Stephen Roy said, "Along with a product line-up and a dealer network that have never been stronger, this latest significant investment in our facilities sends a clear message that Mack is poised to grow our business."

Additionally, Mack Trucks will install two new dynamometers, which will allow completed trucks to run on stationary rollers for enhanced testing of the engine and vehicle systems.
