German automobile manufacturer Daimler has signed a vehicle supply agreement with Austria based local public transportation systems operator OBB Postbus to modernize its bus fleet.

Under the deal, the automobile manufacturer will supply about 400 buses from Mercedes-Benz and Setra between 2013 and 2017.

The manufacturer will supply high floor vehicle models including the Mercedes-Benz's Intouro, Integro, and Citaro buses along with the Setra Multi Class 400.

Features of the vehicles will include a wheelchair elevator in the double broad middle way, air conditioners for the passenger space and for the driver.

According to the company, the Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses provide comfort and safety with lower engine speed and optimized sound insulation.

The buses belonging to Mercedes-Benz and Setra are claimed to be compliant with the Euro VI-standards and offer 8% lesser fuel consumption compared to their Euro V-compliant predecessors.
