Corporate Express has won awards for two of its environmentally-friendly products in the Australian Business Awards for 2012.
Staples Carbon Neutral copy paper won awards for best new product and product innovation while the Sustainable Earth by Staples print cartridge range won the award for product value.
Corporate Express also won the award for environmental sustainability in the business category.
"We are committed to sustainability in our own practices and to making it easy for our customers to make a positive difference in their workplaces and are honoured to have been recognised for this," said Corporate Express head of communications and corporate social responsibility, Jennifer Levasseur.
"The development and launch of Staples Carbon Neutral copy paper is a significant step in Corporate Express' commitment to sustainability. It provides customers with the opportunity to reduce their organisation's carbon footprint without having to sacrifice quality and performance or increase costs. Copy paper is our highest selling item, so the potential impact of this new offering is significant and we are already seeing strong take-up," added Corporate Express vice president – merchandising, Nick Severino.
Corporate Express' EarthSaver classification program was significantly expanded during 2011 and the company launched a premium brand of eco-conscious products – Sustainable Earth by Staples, making Corporate Express the largest supplier of environmentally preferable products in Australia.
The Australian Business Awards, established in 2005, engage with leading corporate, government and non-profit organisations across key industry segments, including financial, manufacturing, professional services, energy, telecommunications, construction, transport, healthcare, education, food services and retail.
