US-headquartered packaging solutions provider MeadWestvaco (MWV) has unveiled Evertain, a hermetically sealable, airtight paperboard, designed for food packaging.
The paperboard package is claimed to protect food products from oxygen and moisture.
Available in four reclosable sizes, including round and non-round varieties with customizable barrier levels against oxygen and moisture, the Evertain incorporates a sealed inner seam with barrier coating to maintain freshness and extend shelf life of the product.
With added feature of portability, the on-the-go snack cup is designed to fit in standard car cup holders.
MWV Strategic Marketing vice president John Rau said, "Food manufacturers invest so much in perfecting the crunch of a chip or the flavor of an almond.
"Evertain is designed to preserve those textures and flavors from the manufacturer, through the supply chain, all the way to the consumer, delivering an outstanding snacking experience wherever they are."
The company has launched Evertain at the ongoing SNAXPO 2014 event in Dallas, Texas.
