Wold Top Brewery's New 4 Bottle Gift Pack Is Designed by Smurfit Kappa

Corrugated packaging company Smurfit Kappa chose to design Wold Top Brewery’s new 4 bottle gift pack using its latest promotional pack promoting MirriNor material.

MirriNor, a metallized packaging board, was specifically designed as part of a joint venture between Smurfit Kappa Sheetfeeding and Mirri, a brand in metallic laminated board and paper, according to the company.

MirriNor, a silver laminated board, combines a biodegradable metallic film from Mirri with Smurfit Kappa's patented T-Flute microflute corrugated board.

The result is a metallic board product that promises to offer a quality finish, better printability, and characteristics of Smurfit's T-Flute microflute corrugated board in terms of studiness and light weight at 435gsm (770micron), according to the company.

Wold Top Brewery owner Gill Mellor said the team at MirriNor really helped the company to get the best out of using the new MirriNor material.

"We were really excited about the metallic effects that could be created using MirriNor, but then we were blown away by the excellent result created on the finished box. MirriNor introduced us to the Color-Logic process system which allowed us to incorporate an intricate design with a high quality gold effect," added Mellor.

The 4 bottle beer pack was printed by UV litho printer Oriel, a Hull based printer.

Smurfit Kappa operates in more than 30 countries globally, with over 330 production sites that produce 5.1m tons of containerboard and 5m tons of corrugated packaging.
