Audi of America has unveiled the new 2012 special edition R8 V8 and R8 V10 coupes for the US market.
The carmaker said that it will produce only 20 vehicles of the 2012 exclusive selection edition R8 V8 model and 30 2012 exclusive selection edition R8 V10 cars, which will be on sale in the US by the end of this month.
Powered by a 4.2-litre FSI V8 engine, the new R8 V8 will offer an output of 430hp at 7,900 rpm and 316 lb-ft of torque, while it will be the frist to be debuted with a Daytona Gray matte exterior.
Features of the new R8 V8 include carbon fiber elements, Bang & Olufsen Sound System and navigation with the Audi Music Interface.
The new 2012 R8 V10 is powered by a 5.2-litre FSI V10 engine which generates an output of 525hp at 8,000 rpm with 391lb-ft of torque.
Both the special edition variants can be mated either to a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic R tronic transmission, the carmaker said.
Price range for 2012 exclusive selection edition R8 V8 ranges between $137,700-$146,800 while, the exclusive selection edition R8 V10 will be offered at a price range of $161,500-$170,600.
