Platinum edition of Ford Explorer has been launched combining features of Explorer Sport and Limited trim level, which will hit the stores next month in the US.
Ford group global product development vice-president and chief technical officer Raj Nair said: "For 25 years, Explorer has shaped what people expect from an SUV... With this new Explorer Platinum, we're raising expectations."
The new Explorer Platinum has multi-adjustable front seats in Nirvana leather with micro-perforation, 500-watt premium Sony Audio System, smart driver-assist technologies and 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine advance Explorer.
Ford Explorer chief designer Mike Arbaugh said: "Platinum is the ultimate expression of refinement... This is the most upscale, high-quality interior we've ever offered on a Ford vehicle in North America."
The interior of the vehicle is made from aluminum and ash wood multi-piece appliqués on door panels and instrument panel. The instrument cluster has a large 10-inch digital display with analog displays.
Explorer Platinum also displays enhanced active park assist, lane-keeping system and rain-sensing wipers.
As for the exterior, lighting surrounds LED headlamps while dual-panel moonroof, silver-painted front and rear skid plate elements deck up the vehicle.
Ford utilities marketing manager Craig Patterson said: "The Explorer name has long been synonymous with off-road capability... Explorer Platinum continues that reputation and adds so much more."
