Maravilla Deploys TNA Solutions to Boost Snack Production

Algerian snack maker Maravilla has increased production capacity by 25% with the installation of tna solutions.

Maravilla has replaced an outdated manual process with optimised and automated conveying systems which helped the company increase its production.

The comapny has integrated nine tna roflo high throw vibratory conveyors, three mini feeders into its potato/corn pellet line.

Maravilla has also updated its current control systems by deploying integration technologies from tna.

With the new improvements, Maravilla intends to make its production process more efficient and minimize plant downtime.

tna's roflo VM 3 is a vibratory conveyor which features a unique throw pattern. It incorporates an innovative reaction base design that comes with an intelligent microprocessor, for better stroke length at a lower frequency.

The vibrator conveyor system features no metal-to-metal bacteria build up areas as all conveyor trays are fully welded or scalloped which will help the company in eliminating contamination risk.

The new system comes with additional components that require regular cleaning and are also easily detachable to ensure maintenance of hygiene.

All tna conveying equipment in the new system is made from food grade stainless steel and includes a few moving parts where food can get trapped. This facilitates in the easier cleaning process, thereby reducing downtime.

Maravilla has also installed tna's three tailored mini-feeders for smooth product transfer between systems. Through optical sensors, mini feeders monitor pellet levels to facilitate thorough quality management in the hopper.

For instance, when a low level of raw pellets is detected, the controls system sends an alert to plant managers of the problem on the line, which allows for quick action to be taken.

The systems have been designed in such a way that they minimize stoppages and increase simultaneous transmission between different components of the production line.

As a result of this, Maravilla has been able to maximise production capacity and achieve overall efficiency through the entire production process.

tna has deployed a fully integrated control system across Maravilla's entire production line.

Through a combination of programmable logic controller (PLC) systems and sensors, operators will be able to accurately control the speed at which the product is transferred from the feeder into the fryer and the optimum frying temperature.

They will also have complete control of the operation of the seasoning system. This means that the process only begins once the product is inside the drum thereby helping avoid unnecessary waste.
