US document management major Xerox has introduced a Cloud-enabled performance management application ‘CitySight’ with data analytics capability to aid parking enforcement personnel to support safety and urban mobility.
Being showcased at the 2015 International Parking Institute Conference and Expo in Las Vegas between June 29 and July 2, the system is capable of automating the processes conducted manually with its logging mechanism analyzing the daily activities of parking enforcement officers (PEOs).
Xerox parking and mobility solutions - senior vice president David Cummins said: "CitySight brings an added layer of visibility and transparency to enforcement, creating a better teamwork dynamic.
"Insights gained from data analytics smooth out varying levels of productivity that often exist and give supervisors and colleagues a better idea of what officers do during a given shift."
Based on the inputs from such daily activities such as, time worked, patrols, citizen interaction and citations, the supervisors will be able to effect time management and conduct allocation of resources leading to smooth flow of traffic, safety and availability of parking lots.
Designed by Xerox researchers based on feedback from the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and the Denver Department of Public Works, the application is also capable of making service request, crosswalk supervision, traffic management and citizen-driven complaints hassle-free.
Department of Transportation parking enforcement operations chief Greg Savelli said: "We're working closely with Xerox to understand how we can better deploy our parking enforcement officers to meet our citizens' and local merchants' needs.
"With CitySight, our supervisors can be more effective and our officers more efficient and focused, allowing them to respond to issues sooner and ultimately keep our city safer and less congested."
