Battle Creek, Mich., July 10 -- Kellogg Company's ongoing commitment to understanding consumer needs is driving the latest round of new products to delight consumers and position the company for continued success.

"Every new product from Kellogg is developed based on keen insights into the lifestyles, taste preferences and nutrition needs of our consumers," said Brad Davidson, president of Kellogg North America. "By leveraging these emerging trends, we continue to introduce hot new products that excite both our consumers and our retail partners."

These insights are then brought to life from the across cereal and snack aisles to the freezer section, by some of the world's strongest brands, such as Special K®, Keebler® and Eggo®.

The current group of new products builds on the momentum established by other recent successful innovations from Kellogg. Special K Fruit Crisps and Keebler Town House® Flipside® crackers were named Breakthrough Innovation Leader Silver award winners by Nielson and Special K Cracker Chips ranked number seven on Symphony IRI's 2011 Top Pacesetters list.

Special K: Her All-Day Partner

Because the Special K brand knows that weight managers are always looking for new options to help them overcome dieting boredom, Special K is expanding its lineup of snack options. Special K Cracker Chips have been a runaway hit and they will be joined this summer by Special K Popcorn Chips. Debuting in two varieties (Butter and Sweet & Salty), the new chips are made with 100 percent real milled corn for a light and crispy texture. Each 28-chip serving has 120 calories and 2 grams of total fat, making them a great alternative to regular corn chips or microwave popcorn.

Special K also knows that many women play tug-of-war between the need for a sensible snack and cravings for something with a satisfying sweet taste and texture. New varieties of Special K Pastry Crisps -- Chocolaty Delight and Brown Sugar Cinnamon -- deliver two lightly sweet, crispy pastries with filling on the inside and a sweet drizzle on the outside at only 100 calories.

And of course, Special K cereal continues its role in helping weight managers start the day right. The brand is re-launching Special K Protein cereal in response to consumers looking for protein for energy and to feel full longer.

Summer Champions and Blockbusters

The Olympics are an inspiring time for moms because the achievements of the athletes remind them of the limitless possibilities that exist in their children's futures. Kellogg is celebrating this spirit of potential as a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Committee and Team USA, and by unveiling a series of limited-edition Olympic-themed innovations. Kellogg's Team USA cereal, delicious vanilla flavored loops made with whole grains, gives Olympic fans a new way to have a great start to their day. Team USA Mixed Berry Pop-Tarts® are a fun way to celebrate the Summer Games, and Keebler Chips Deluxe® RainbowTM cookies with red, white and blue candy jewels let consumers share the Olympic spirit.

Kellogg also knows that families get excited about the hottest movies and that movie tickets can be expensive. The Amazing Spider-man is set to be the blockbuster hit of the summer and Kellogg is helping build a web of excitement with special Spider-man-inspired products and a program that lets families earn movie tickets. Yum-azing Vanilla Pop-Tarts capture the fun of the movie with red icing and blue spidey sprinkles and other Spider-man-themed foods will debut from Cheez-It® crackers, Rice Krispies Treats®, Keebler Fudge Stripes® cookies, and Keebler Graham Bites. By collecting and redeeming codes found on specially marked Kellogg products, consumers can earn free movie tickets or upgrade from a standard ticket to a 3-D show.

CinSational Cinnamon

Cinnamon-flavored products accounted for $1.4 billion in sales across the grocery industry last year[1]. In January, Kellogg introduced two new cinnamon versions of classic cereals: Frosted Mini-Wheats® Cinnamon Roll and Kellogg's Raisin Bran® Cinnamon Almond. The appeal of cinnamon continues and now the Keebler elves have teamed up with Cinnabon to create new Keebler Cinnamon Roll cookies. These aromatic, sweet and chewy cookies debut in original and caramel pecan varieties. An inside tip from the elves? Try them warm.

Kellogg's newest brand, Pringles®, offers its own unique touch of sweetness with a cinnamon flavored crisp for the holiday season.

Fall Fun

Fall will be here soon and Kellogg is already preparing products that feature the great seasonal flavor of pumpkin. Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts are becoming an anticipated autumn tradition and in response to consumer demand, they will be back in stores in time to provide a warm start on those cooler mornings. Also building on the pumpkin taste trend are new Eggo Seasons Pumpkin Spice waffles which will also be popping up in toasters this fall. A Pumpkin Spice flavor from Pringles will also appear as a limited edition offering at Wal-Mart.

Also this fall, approximately 70 percent of Americans are expected to celebrate Halloween[2]. Kellogg will help with the scary fun with seasonal products including Krave cereal Halloween pouches, Pop-Tarts Spookylicious toaster pastries, Pop-Tarts Scary Berry Mini Crisps and Halloween-themed Rice Krispies Treats® Mini Squares.

They're Gr-r-r-eat in Any Language

New Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Chocolate are lightly sweetened corn flakes coated in delicious cocoa. Illustrating the broad appeal of Tony the Tiger®, the carton features bilingual branding as both Frosted Flakes Chocolate and in Spanish as Choco Zucaritas. Kellogg's Zucaritas is already the number one cereal brand in Mexico, so this new chocolate flavor should be well received in key Hispanic markets in the U.S. The new cereal provides 10 essential vitamins and minerals.
