Dunapack Packaging to Acquire Corrugated Business of Camis Ambalaj in Turkey

Dunapack Packaging, a unit of Austrian Prinzhorn Group, has signed an agreement to acquire corrugated business of packaging producer Camis Ambalaj Sanayi in Turkey.

Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Camis Ambalaj Sanayi operates a corrugated packaging plant located 280km south-east of Istanbul, Turkey. The facility has an annual sales volume of 160 million m2 of corrugated packaging.

The company is engaged in shelf-ready, transportation- and storage packaging and serves customers in the food, beverage, glass, fresh fruit and vegetable industry sectors.

Prinzhorn Group CEO Cord Prinzhorn said: “This transaction is a unique opportunity for Dunapack to further enhance our position in the supply chain with environmentally friendly packaging and to provide our clients with the best service possible.

“After the acquisition of Dentas Ambalaj in 2013 it also shows our strong commitment to this dynamic and growing market in Turkey.”

The Camis’s plant will complement Dunapack’s existing box plants in Turkey.

With the acquisition, Dunapack will have operations 18 corrugated plants located in 10 countries.

Dunapack Packaging Division managing director Alexander Enzenberg said: “The acquisition of the corrugated business of Camis Ambalaj Sanayi brings us state-of-the-art technology and highly motivated staff.

“This will allow us to deliver innovative and creative packaging solutions to an even wider range of clients in the region.”

Dunapack expects the deal to increase its overall sales volume to 1,8 billion m2 of corrugated packaging.

The deal is in line with Dunapack’s aim to double its production within the next years.
