Porsche Plan to Complete The Construction of Its Engine Plant at Its Zuffenhausen

Porsche is planning to complete the construction of its engine plant at its Zuffenhausen in Stuttgart, Germany by 2015.

The plant is likely to feature an assembly line with logistics areas and engine-testing technology, offices, and staff recreation rooms.

The two-storey plant is spread across 10,000 square meters and is expected to employ around 400 people. Porsche is planning to invest over €300m in its headquarters in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.

Apart from the engine plant the company is also converting its gearbox manufacturing unit into central vehicle workshops.

The company is also planning to invest over €1bn in construction projects in Germany with to ensure steady growth in the country.

Porsche executive board member Dr. Oliver Blume said: "The heart of Porsche will continue to beat in Zuffenhausen in the future, and the rhythm will be taken up across the world in the unique engines of our sports cars."

"The basic principle underlying this investment in jobs for the future is sustainability. This is what impressed the DGNB, it's excellent news for our workforce and it reinforces the position of Porsche as a good employer."
