High Liner Foods Launched SA-Weet a New Addition to Its Viking Brand Portfolio.

High Liner Foods, a leading supplier of seafood in North America, has launched Sa-Weet! Potato Crusted Seafood, a new addition to its Viking Brand portfolio.

The new Sa-Weet! Potato Crusted line is designed for the K-12 and healthcare foodservice segments. It is made of MSC-certified Alaskan Pollock coated with a crust made of real sweet potatoes, nutmeg and cinnamon, providing a sweet but nutritious option to foodservice operators.

The new product lineup will be available in nuggets, sticks, fillets and portions. The sweet potato offerings meet the Alliance for a Healthier Generation Guidelines and are aligned with the USDA whole grain guidelines for the 2014 school year, according to the company.

High Liner K-12 corporate account manager Ned Hawkins said, "Our Sa-Weet! Potato Crusted Seafood line is fun, delicious, and can help operators reach 100 percent compliance with new healthy meal regulations."

High Liner's branded products are sold throughout the US, Canada and Mexico under the High Liner, Fisher Boy, Mirabel, Sea Cuisine and Royal Sea labels, and are available in most grocery and club stores.

The company also sells its products under the High Liner, Icelandic Seafood, FPI, Viking, Mirabel and Samband of Iceland brands to restaurants and institutions, and is the major supplier of private label value-added frozen seafood products to North American food retailers and food service distributors. High Liner Foods is a publicly traded Canadian company, trading under the symbol HLF on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
