2013 Audi A6 Sedan Price Cut up to $9000 Ahead of Biturbo Diesel Launch

Audi Australia has cut up to $9000 from the price of the 2013 Audi A6 sedan line-up as it readies the range for the launch of the flagship twin-turbo diesel model in February.

The Audi A6 3.0 TDI sees the maximum reduction, with its price cut from $116,500 to $107,500. Torque from the model’s V6 has been boosted 80Nm to 580Nm. Acceleration from 0-100km/h remains unchanged at 6.1 seconds, while its combined cycle fuel consumption improves 3.3 per cent to 5.9 litres per 100km.

The flagship petrol variant – the Audi A6 3.0 TFSI – is now $7000 cheaper at $114,000. Power from the car’s supercharged V6 has been bumped up 8kW, although sprint times and economy carry over as before (5.5sec, 8.2L/100km).

Audi has also shaved $2400 from the price of the mid-spec 2.8 FSI petrol model, which is now $91,000 and also benefits from a rear-view camera as standard.

The 2.8 FSI and 3.0 TDI are available with a new $4950 Technik package, which adds a 360-degree top-view camera, LED headlights with high-beam assist, four-zone climate control and an electric glass sunroof.

The Audi A6 3.0 TDI Biturbo will headline the large luxury line-up from next month. The 230kW/650Nm diesel model sprints from 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds and uses 6.4L/100km on the combined cycle.

The A6 Biturbo is tipped to come with a circa-$130,000 price tag when it launches in Australia next month. Full pricing and specifications will be revealed in the coming weeks.
