Tesla Is Reportedly Planning to Update Its Flagship Roadster Car

Tesla is reportedly planning to update its flagship Roadster car which is expected to be released later this week.

The report hints at performance upgrade and improvement of all-electric range of the vehicle, reported Auto Express.

The Roadster was Tesla's first car which was introduced by the electric car maker in 2008.

It featured 288bhp motor which facilitated the car to accelerate from 0-62mph in less than four seconds and in August; Musk hinted that the company could upgrade the battery of the car to improve its diving range.

The previous model facilitated driving range of about 245 miles and the updated variant is expected to reach around 400 miles.

Auto Express reported Ellon Musk as saying: "The Roadster had an old generation battery.

"We'll upgrade it to a new generation battery pack and it should have a range of about 400 miles, which will allow you to drive from LA to San Francisco non-stop."

Previously in the company's shareholders meeting Musk said that "something cool" was coming up which could have been hinted towards the updated Roadster.
