The Growth of Brazilian Spirits Market Will Marginally Be More During 2011-16

The growth of the Brazilian spirits market will marginally be more during 2011-16 than that during 2006-11, according to a report by Canadean - Wine & Spirits.

The report, "The Future of the Spirits Market in Brazil, to 2016", says that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) will be 2.25% during 2011-16 as against 1.63% during 2006-11.

Whiskey, among various categories, will post the maximum growth of 4.18%, as against 3.27% in 2006-11. The growth of vodka, however, will decline to 3.97% from 5.79%.

The growth rate of brandy will double to 2% from 1%, Gin & Genever will rise to 2.02% from 1.23%, Liqueurs & Cocktails to 2.03% from 1.39%, Rum & Cane Spirits to 1.86% from 0.82%, and Specialty Spirits to 2.03% from 1.34%, while Tequila & Mezcal will marginally decline to 2.31% from 2.39%.

The year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth will also witness a steady growth of 1.3% in 2013, 1.5% in 2014 and 2015, and 1.7% in 2016.

Spirits consumption, by price segment, will have the super premium variety growing the most at 3.6% followed by the premium at 2.27%.
