Tesla Motors Has Expanded Its Network That Allows Faster Charging for The Model S Vehicles

Electric carmaker Tesla Motors has expanded its Supercharger network in the US that allows faster charging for the Tesla Model S vehicles.

The expansion follows the success of the Tesla Supercharger network in the areas including California and Nevada on the west coast and the Washington DC to Boston region on the east coast.

According to the company, the Superchargers are designed for city to city travel and offer about three hours of travel time for the Model S vehicles with a charging of 20 to 30 minutes.

The carmaker expects to increase the number of its Supercharger stations to three times by the end of June 2013 that will include stations in California, northwest region from Vancouver to Seattle to Portland, Austin to Dallas in Texas, Illinois and Colorado.

Tesla Motors also plans to stretch the network across the continent including the US and Canada by the end of 2013, while expanding in to the major metro regions including Arizona, Texas, Florida, and the Midwest in the upcoming six months.

Additionally, the company is improving the technology of its charging system, which is currently in the beta test mode and will be launched during summer 2013.
