Here's When The Galaxy Note 7 Is Getting Android 7.0 Nougat

Samsung finally took the wraps off its high-end phablet, the Galaxy Note 7 this month, and although it came with a load of impressive features, Android 7.0 Nougat was missing from the spec sheet.

But that won't be the case for long, according to Samsung Mobile President Koh Dong-jin, who estimates the Note 7 will be upgraded to Nougat within the next two to three months.

Which is encouraging news, especially as the upcoming LG V20 is expected to launch with the latest version of Google's smartphone OS pre-installed.

As the Korea Times reports, speaking at a press conference in Seoul on Thursday, Koh Dong-jin said:"It is very important for us to offer up-to-date information with the new OS, but what's more crucial is to build a stable and seamless platform for users.

"That's why we are planning to do enough beta testing before any OS updates."

The Note 7 itself is due out in the UK on September 2, with pre-orders set to open on August 16. But Note 7 owners could possibly be upgraded as soon as October judging by Dong-jin's comments.

With all the aforementioned beta testing, however, it seems more likely that November will be the month in which the Note 7 gets its upgrade

Samsung's high-end phablet comes packed with top features, including a 5.7-inch, quad-HD Super AMOLED display, which was recently designated as the best smartphone screen ever by DisplayMate.

It also comes with 4GB RAM, an Octa-core CPU, IP68 water resistance, and can be used with the S Pen stylus.
