Sterlingham Co Ltd, bathroom accessories manufacturer, has increased its staff count by 30% in the past 12 months. Owner Kelvin Pearce has employed younger staff in the past year to 'ensure that the artisan techniques do not become a thing of the past', the company said in a statement.
The manufacturer has also continued to expand exports of its bathroom accessories to locations around the world. Exports accounted for 67% of the company's gross profit in the past 12 months.
Managing director Kelvin Pearce said the company is "extremely pleased" with its growth. "Not only have we expanded our team but we've seen increased export abroad which is testament to how British manufacturing is viewed around the world," he said.
General manager Andrew Healey said the company has increased its stock of accessories in 2014 and is in the process of developing new product ranges, which will be featured in the new brochure, expected to be released in August. He added: "We have several internal projects rolling out over the coming months to improve our manufacturing processes as well as our customer service 'extras'."
