Zip-Pak Developed Resealable Packaging for Giants Sunflower Seeds with Flexible Technipac

US-based snacks providing firm Giants Snacks has introduced a new resealable packaging designs for many flavors of its Giants Sunflower Seeds.

The new resealable packages were developed by packaging services provider Zip-Pak in collaboration with flexible packaging converter TechniPac.

The new package features heat score technology that forms hermetic packaging barrier to preserve freshness of the Giants dry salty snacks, while allowing the users to tear the packaging material across the top of the zipper and leave sufficient film to reseal it.

Giants Snacks plant manager Al Engstrom said the packaging had to be pourable, with a half close.

"We also placed a high priority on the reliability of the zipper to secure and protect the contents," Engstrom added.

TechniPac sales and development vice president Greg Melchoir said collaborating with Zip-Pak is always productive and rewarding.

"Like TechniPac, creating innovative solutions in the flexible packaging space seems to be in their DNA. That's why our teams work so well together," Melchoir said.

Zip-Pak sales and marketing director Art Malcomson said, "Given the requirements of the Giants packaging, it was critically important to work hand-in-hand with TechniPac throughout the development process to ensure a successful result."

Additionally, Zip-Pak shared Vector resealable matrix technology with TechniPac to design the package and adapt to its packaging film and the tooling designed.
