US-based Axalta Coating Systems has launched a new urethane primer and polyurethane clearcoat, expanding its Rival economy paint product lineup to cater to the commercial vehicle sector.
Designed for drying up fast, Rival RV400 Urethane Primer could be applied on properly treated substrates such as aluminum, steel, fiberglass and plastic.
The primer could also be mixed with existing Rival activators for achieving both 2.1lbs/gal and 3.5lbs/gal volatile organic compounds (VOC) levels.
The coatings, which could be applied on OEM vehicles, commercial vehicles as well as electric motors, buildings and pipelines, have been claimed to offer prevention from corrosion.
Axalta commercial transportation product manager Jim Fawcett said: "Axalta continues to create products that help meet the growing needs and demands of our customers... The addition of the new Rival primer and clearcoat gives our customers a complete system of quality finishes for the economy market."
The mixing specifications for RV500 Polyurethane Clearcoat are 2.1 lbs/gal and 3.5 lbs/gal VOC levels.
The Rival brand was launched by Axalta in 2013 with a single stage polyurethane enamel, while Rival topcoat is available in solid and metallic colors to offer the flexibility for choosing just the right Axalta product needed for the job.
