Samsung is to pay$310m for CSR's wireless mobile unit which delivers 36%of CSR's revenues.
The deal covers Cambridge-based CSR's products for handsets.
It will leave the company focused on audio,imaging,automotive,indoor location and Bluetooth.
Samsung will also buy a 4.9%stake in CSR for a further$34.4m.300 CSR employees will move over to work for Samsung.
Samsung gets CSR's patents in Wi-Fi,Bluetooth and GPS technologies.
CSR s been doing badly recently losing$16m in Q1.Its shares are down 50%on the year and current market capitalisation is around$700m.
Last year it bought Zoran for$484m.
