GM Is Aiming to Come Back 2014 Model Year Vehicles in The US

US based vehicle manufacturer General Motors (GM) is planning to recall 2014 model year vehicles in the US, over the improperly fitted brake parts.

The recall will affect 2014 Chevrolet Suburban vehicles built from 09 to 22 July 2013, 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe produced during 16-23 July 2013, 2014 GMC Yukon manufactured from 13 to 18 July 2013 and the 2014 GMC Yukon XL built on 22 July 2013.

The recall was prompted by the rear brake caliper bolts that are not tightened to specification, which conflicts with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 135, Light Vehicle Brake Systems.

According to the company, the loose brake caliper bolts may decrease the performance of the brake, resulting in longer stopping distances, which may increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

The manufacturer will notify the owners and dealers to inspect bolts on both rear brake caliper brackets and replace or tighten if necessary.
