Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) announced it is conducting a voluntary recall on one size (7.50R16 Load Range F) of the RY215 that is missing the following tire markings: Department of Transportation (DOT) symbol, maximum load rating and corresponding inflation pressure, and the number of plies and ply cord material.

Approximately 1,192 affected RY215 tires were sold and are the subject of the recall.

The company says the performance capability of the tire is not affected. The only issue with the tires is the missing sidewall information. It is contacting customers by letter.

YTC says the recall is being conducted as part of its commitment to serve the best interests of its customers.

“We are working with our dealers to contact potentially affected customers who may be using one or more of these particular tires that were produced during a specific time period. Customers who think they might have purchased one of these partially-labeled tires are directed to have a free inspection at their Yokohama dealer. The tire inspection will be free to the public and any affected tires will be replaced at no cost.”
