Albertsons and Safeway Voluntarily Recall Five Refrigerated Salads in Cooperation with Reser's Fine Foods' Recall

In cooperation with Reser's Fine Foods' voluntary recall of refrigerated salads that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, Albertsons and Safeway stores are voluntarily recalling several refrigerated salad products supplied by Reser's.

Reser's was notified by a supplier that Listeria monocytogenes may be present in one lot of onions that was used in the manufacture of these salads.

Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and individuals with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant woman.

The Reser's recall impacts Albertsons stores in nine states and Safeway, Vons, Pavilions and Pak 'N Save stores in 15 states.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with products purchased from our stores. We are recalling these items out of an abundance of caution.

Customers who purchased the recalled products from the above-listed stores should discard or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
