Porsche Unveils 2017 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S

Porsche has revealed the details of its 2017 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S cars, set to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.

The automaker is planning to launch both coupe and convertible body styles at the event.

The company has equipped the 911 Turbo with 3.8 liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine capable of producing 540 hp which is 20 horsepower more than its predecessor.

According to Porsche, the increase in horsepower was facilitated by the modified intake ports in the cylinder heads, new fuel injectors, and higher fuel pressure.

On the other hand the, the 911 Turbo S is capable of producing 580 hp due to the new turbochargers with larger impeller, and the car can accelerate 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds.

However, the 911 Turbo reaches 0-60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds.

With the new cars, Porsche has made its Sport Chrono Package as standard feature which now includes Sport Response button.

It is a black button, when pressed preconditions the engine and transmission for the best possible responsiveness and enables the vehicle to produce optimal acceleration for up to 20 seconds.

Some of the other standard features of the new models include active roll stabilization program PDCC, Composite Ceramic Brake (PCCB) system, radar-based lane change assist, Sport Chrono Package, Park Assist front and rear including reversing camera, and LED headlights.

The cars also feature includes 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus with seat backrests in leather, a two-tone leather interior, LED headlights with PDLS+, Sport Design exterior mirrors, and 7-inch multi-touch monitor.
