Toyota Plans to Explore More Component Suppliers in Europe

Toyota Motor plans to cooperate with the global non-Japanese component enterprises, especially will explore more component suppliers in Europe.

Didier Leroy, CEO of Toyota in Europe, revealed to The European Automobile Magazine, “We are looking forward to establish partnerships with more European component suppliers. Many European component enterprises may be the global business partners of Toyota in the future.” He expressed that Toyota now has already been negotiating with Germany Bosch, France Valeo and other companies. Masahisa Nagata, procurement and development director of Toyota in Europe, pointed out European component enterprises are located in the forefront of the world in the field of plastic processing, while Japanese suppliers are expert in the field of metal processing. Both of them have advantages.

As Toyota continuously improves the target position of vehicle local productivity, the proportion of cars’ components sold in Europe has been ‘Europeanize’ to a large extent. For example, 80% of Toyota’s European Auris’ components are from Europe.
