Tesco Recalls Finest Sweet and Zesty Side Salad Due to The Undeclared Presence of Soya

British retailer Tesco has recalled its own brand Finest Sweet and Zesty Side Salad due to the undeclared presence of edamame (soya) beans in some packages, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced.

The product, Tesco Finest Sweet and Zesty Side Salad of 60g, came with use by dates of 6 and 7 October 2013.

Consumers intolerant to soya are at the risk of an illness if they eat the product.

Those who have purchased the product have been advised to discard it and instead return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. No other Tesco products are known to be affected.

Tesco has withdrawn the affected product from shelves and has displayed notices in stores, explaining customers the reason behind the recall.

In addition, the retailer also contacted relevant allergy support organizations, which will inform their members about the withdrawal.
