Xylem Announced Appointment of Nicholas R. Colisto as Senior Vice President and CIO

Xylem Inc. announced the appointment of Nicholas R. Colisto as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective December 19, 2012.

He will report directly to Gretchen McClain, President and Chief Executive Officer of Xylem, and will be responsible for all information technology (IT) strategy and staffing to support the global business. Colisto’s nomination to become a corporate officer of Xylem will be presented to the company s board of directors on December 13, 2012. 

“As a company doing business in more than 150 countries, we have seen the growing strategic importance of information technology in enabling efficient operations and business processes, and we’re elevating the IT functional leadership to reflect that importance,” said McClain. “Nick’s deep experience in delivering innovative business technology solutions across all functions fits perfectly with our global IT needs. He will be a valuable addition to our leadership team.” 

Since 2005, Colisto, 46, served in executive IT positions at Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., a $1.4 billion residential construction company in Red Bank, N.J., and was appointed Vice President and CIO there in 2008. From 2000 to 2005, he was an Executive Director in IT at Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Ridgefield, Conn. Prior to that, he served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility at Priceline.com, Hyperion Solutions, Inc., Pepsi-Cola and the Bayer Corporation. 

He serves on the academic advisory board at Rutgers University and on the foundation board of trustees for Bayshore Community Hospital, part of the Meridian Health Network.

He received both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems, and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from Pace University.
