Daimler AG's luxury car unit Mercedes Benz has said it will recall 4,999 vehicles in China from Feb 15, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine

The quality watchdog said the recall will involve Mercedes-Benz S class, which were produced between April 19, 2011 and July 20, 2011, and Mercedes-Benz SLK class which were produced between May, 6, 2011 and Jul, 5, 2011.

The automaker said the fuel filter in these affected vehicles might lead to oil leak, adding that all affected vehicles will be fixed at no charge cost.

Mercedes-Benz earlier announced its auto sales in China rose 4.2% YoY to 177,301 units in the first eleven months of this year, China Knowledge reported earlier.
