Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan will start assembly of the Murano at the Canton manufacturing and assembly plant in Mississippi, US by 2014.
Models of the car that will be manufactured at the plant include S, SV, SL and LE, with an all-wheel drive convertible model, the Murano CrossCabriolet .
Nissan Americas vice chairman Bill Krueger said: "With the addition of this new model in Canton, Nissan is well on its way toward meeting our goal to manufacture 85 percent of the vehicles we sell in the U.S. right here in North America."
The car will be powered by the 3.5L DOHC V6 engine paired to Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that generates an output of 260hp.
The vehicle is made available with in front-wheel drive or with an Intuitive all-wheel drive system.
The plant manufactures models including the Altima, Armada, Xterra, Titan, Frontier pickup trucks, NV commercial and passenger vans.
