Toyota Motors Is Aiming to Announce Its Hybrid Concept Vehicle at The Frankfurt Motor Show

Japanese automaker Toyota Motors is planning to unveil its hybrid concept vehicle, the Yaris Hybrid-R at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September 2013 in Germany.

The vehicle is said to be based on the Toyota TS030 prototype vehicle, which participated in the 2013 Le Mans 24hrs competition.

Hybrid-R concept is expected to be powered by two electric motors along with a 1.6L global race engine (GRE) that would jointly deliver an output about 400hp.

The new hybrid concept car would come with the dual mode control feature, which would allow drivers to change settings depending on the required performance of either road or racetrack.

Toyota is planning to increase its portfolio of the perfect zero-emissions technologies including fuel cell vehicles, which are expected to be launched in 2015.

Additionally, the manufacturer has partnered with BMW to develop a battery system for a future sports vehicle.

In 2012, the company sold 1.2 million hybrid vehicles across the globe, driven by the international success of its Prius vehicle range.

The company also plans to launch 16 new hybrid model vehicles by the end of 2015, which would include revamps of its older vehicles as well as new models.
