Aam Has Revealed a Plan to Invest About $100m in Its Three Rivers Manufacturing Facility

American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) has revealed a plan to invest about $100m in its Three Rivers manufacturing facility located in Michigan, US.

The investment is scheduled to be completed by December 2013, which will add new production lines, assembly stations, paint line modifications, additional shipping and receiving capacity along with upgrades to the business offices and lobby.

AAM president and chief executive officer David C. Dauch said that the company announced that it would be bringing new business to Michigan in the last fall.

"For the past two years, we have been preparing the Three Rivers Manufacturing Facility for this new business launch.

"AAM will continue to make investments in Michigan, North America and regions across the globe where we are privileged to do business," Dauch added.

In 2012, the company had invested over $50m in the 123acre facility for technologically advanced machining equipment, R&D laboratory equipment and IT infrastructure upgrades.

The factory will manufacture AAM's EcoTrac Disconnecting All-Wheel Drive (AWD) System.

The company currently produces driveline and drivetrain systems, chassis, metal-formed products for light vehicles, trucks, SUVs andpassenger cars.
