Brothers Meats Is Recalling 26975 Pounds of Tenderized Steak and Ground Beef Products

US-based establishment Lombardi Brothers Meats is recalling close to 26,975 pounds of tenderized steak and ground beef products as they may have been contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The products subject to the recall include Beef Ball Tip Stk Cab, Beef Top Sirloin Stk Cab, Beef Top Sirloin Stk Cab Baseball, Beef Country Club Sirloin Cab, Beef Top Sirloin Chateau Cab, Beef Patty Cab 85/15 2/1r, Beef Ground Cab 75/25, Beef Ground Cab, Beef Ground Cab 80/20, Beef Ground Cab 90/10, Beef Ground Cab 75/25, and Beef Patty Cab 85/15 2/1r.

The recall also covers Beef Patty Cab 80/20 3-1 rnd, Beef Patty Cab 80/20, Beef Ground 80/20 Emp, Beef Patty Cab 75/25, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 2-1 rnd, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 2-1 thk, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 8-1, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 3-1 thk, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 4-1 rnd, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 4-1 no u boards, Beef Patty Cab 80/20 2-1 no uboards.

Produced from 12 June through 30 June this year, the recalled products with establishment number EST. 772 inside the USDA mark of inspection were distributed for hotel, restaurant and institutional use in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

The recall has been initiated after the products were tested positive for E. coli, during in-house sampling program.

This is classified as a Class I health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.

Consumption of the products contaminated with E. coli may cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.
