Skoda Introduces Canton Sound System in Superb

Automobile major Skoda has armed its Superb vehicle with Canton sound system carrying twelve speakers and an additional amplifier mounted under the driver’s seat.

Developed by loudspeaker-manufacturer Cantonensures, the system provides a power output of 610 watts, the best among any of Skoda's direct competitors.

The 12 individual loudspeakers integrate in Skoda Superb for a completely balanced sound. Of them, ten are there in the doors - high, mid-high and woofers in the front doors, high and mid-range speakers in the rear doors. A central speaker is located on the dashboard and a large subwoofer with a 2 x 100-watt output is installed in the boot.

Skoda has worked with German sound specialists at Cantonto and installed high-end system in the current Skoda Octavia, claiming to provide the sound quality of home entertainment systems.

The components are controlled by a 12-channel DSP (Digital Signal Processors) amplifier, installed under the driver's seat.

Tuned to the interior of the Skoda Superb and Superb estate, the system is capable of transmitting harmonious basses, natural mid-tones and a clear treble.

The equalizer, customized for four individual modes, is also designed for hands-free phone conversations or crystal clear navigation instructions.

There are three sound-distribution presets capable of shifting the focus of sound to the driver, the front of the car, or to the entire interior.

Besides, the sound is said to capable of being focused on any point in the interior manually, cancelling the effect of road noise.
