Llewellyn's Appointment to The Newly-Created Role of Merchandising Development Manager

Officeworks Marketing Manager on the Move

Officeworks' national marketing manager David Llewellyn is leaving the stationery retailer to take up a senior merchandising role at Target.

Advertising trade magazine B&T reported Llewellyn's appointment to the newly-created role of merchandising development manager. He will leave Officeworks to join Target in June.

Officeworks declined to comment on Llewellyn's departure. It is understood that a replacement has yet to be appointed.

Llewellyn has led a marketing team of 34 and has been responsible for Officeworks' marketing, e-commerce and brand strategies for the past four years.

As marketing manager, Llewellyn oversaw Officeworks' five-month creative review which concluded in March. The five-way pitch saw Melbourne-based agency AJF Partnership replace incumbent Badjar Ogilvy.

The retailer spent an estimated $22.4m on main media between August 2012 and July 2011, down from $23.5m spent in the 12 months to July 2010, according to research firm Nielsen.

Before joining Officeworks in 2008 Llewellyn was the CRM manager at The Just Group and Blockbuster Entertainment's marketing director for Australia and the UK.
