Audi and INRIX Partnered to Help Drivers Better Tackle The Challenges of Daily Driving

Audi and INRIX, Inc. have partnered to help drivers better tackle the challenges of daily driving with the introduction of INRIX XD Traffic services to Audi vehicles in North America, available in model year 2015 Audi vehicles with Audi connect.

Making its debut at the 2015 Consumer Telematics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, INRIX XD Traffic delivers real-time navigation information to the driver, including routes, travel times and alerts to incidents on the road. INRIX XD Traffic services cover more than 2 million miles of road in North America, including highways, ramps, interchanges, arterials, city and other secondary roads.

"The addition of INRIX XD Traffic to the Audi connect suite of services gives Audi drivers one more valuable tool to assist with the unavoidable challenges that come with everyday driving," said Anupam Malhotra, Senior Manager of Connected Vehicles, Audi of America. "The dynamic flow of traffic information means customers can count on their Audi vehicles to help them find the best route to their destination."

"A higher level of data resolution and improved re-routing algorithms means INRIX XD Traffic provides drivers with an unprecedented level of traffic precision," said Andreas Hecht, Vice President and GM of Automotive, INRIX. "This embodies the standard of performance and innovation customers expect from Audi."

The addition of INRIX XD Traffic to the Audi connect* suite of services complements real-time parking availability and fuel information services already available through Audi.

MMI Navigation-equipped vehicles. INRIX Park helps drivers navigate to the closest available parking, easily compare rates and get turn-by-turn directions to the entrances for more than 23,000 parking locations in North America. Additionally, INRIX Fuel provides location and real-time fuel price information for more than 140,000 gas stations in North America.

This service automatically updates price per gallon by grade from payment transactions at gas stations for the most current fuel price information available. Combined, all services work to produce a variety of insights and information that makes navigation easier for Audi owners.

Other available Audi connect services include Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity as well as real-time new, local traffic, travel and weather information, social media feeds, access to Internet Radio stations and more.

Audi and INRIX will demonstrate these services in vehicles on display at the International CES in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2015.
