BMW to Showcase Second Generation X4 Sports Activity Coupe at General Motor Show

BMW is all set to showcase its second generation sports activity coupe X4 at the upcoming International Motor Show in Geneva this March.

The new X4 is powered by petrol and diesel engines.  It will be available in seven variants across petrol and diesel engines.

The variants include X4 xDrive20i, X4 xDrive30i, X4 M40i, X4 xDrive20d, X4 xDrive25d, X4 xDrive30d and X4 M40d.

BMW’s X4 xDrive20i has four cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 1,998cc with output of 135kW/184hp and a torque of 290Nm (214lb-ft). It claims to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 215 km/h (134 mph).

The X4 M40i has a six cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 2,998cc and an output of 265kW/360hp and a torque of 500Nm (369lb-ft). It can from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.

The X4 xDrive20d is a four cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 1,995cc. It gives a power output of 140kW/190hp and a torque of 400Nm (295 lb-ft). It claims to accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds. And, has a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph).

The X4 M40d is a six cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 2,993cc. It can give an output of 240kW/326hp and a torque of 680Nm (501lb-ft), with an acceleration of 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds. It claims to have a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Power from the engine is transferred to the wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic transmission system and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. These two are standard across all models.

The combined fuel consumption of the vehicles range from 9.0 – 5.4 l/100 km (31.4 – 52.3 mpg) and combined CO2 emissions lie between 209 and 142 g/km.

The vehicle is supported by variable speed steering, performance control, adaptive M suspension, M Sport differential and M Sport brakes.

All the variants are equipped with BMW’s iDrive operating system and intelligent voice control come as standard, while control display with touchscreen functionally and BMW’s gesture control are optional.
