Infiniti Is Aiming to Introduce The New Q30 Concept Sedan at The Frankfurt Motor Show

Infiniti, the luxury car manufacturing division of Japanese automaker Nissan Motor, is planning to introduce the new Q30 concept sedan at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show to be held in September 2013.

Based on the Infiniti design philosophy established with the Infiniti Q50, the latest concept marks the carmaker's portfolio expansion into new premium segments.

Infiniti Motor president Johan de Nysschen said that the new Infiniti Q30 Concept is a prelude to the product portfolio expansion which underpins the company's global growth strategy.

"In our quest to appeal to the modern, young-minded premium customer, the Infiniti Q30 Concept has a distinctive style and reaches new levels of product quality," Nysschen said.

Planned to be built at the Nissan's Sunderland plant in the UK, the new concept sedan features design cues from the Infiniti concept trilogy including Essence, Etherea and Emerg-e, the company said.

As part of a technology sharing deal between the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler, the new concept would be based on the same platform and also incorporate some of the same engines as that power the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

Infiniti is also planning to unveil its forthcoming compact premium model, the first Infiniti model Sebastian Vettel.
