PepsiCo Opens of a New Snack Production Plant in Saudi Arabia

PepsiCo has expanded its presence in the Middle East with the opening of a new snack production plant in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, which will employ close to 300 people.

Said to be the company's 15th location in the Middle East, the plant will be capable of producing various snacks such as Lays Forno.

The products from the plant will be supplied to the snack market across the country.

Commenting on the development, PepsiCo chairperson and CEO Indra Nooyi, said: "The Middle East is a dynamic food and beverage market and a critical engine of growth for PepsiCo. Over the years, PepsiCo and Saudi Arabia have prospered together and the investment in this plant is testament to our belief in PepsiCo's bright future in this country and the wider region.

"The plant will be a critical hub for our company, bringing some of PepsiCo's best-loved snacks and newest innovations to Saudi Arabia and markets throughout the region."

The plant is compliant with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards and will reduce PepsiCo's environmental footprint by minimising waste and maximising energy efficiency.

Prior to opening the Dammam plant, PepsiCo launched an innovation centre in Dubai.
