Packaging Inspection Company's Sfm Inspection Device Utilizes Thermal Imaging Technology

Designed to operate without slowing down the rate of production, the Israeli packaging inspection company for the pharmaceutical industry said its Sachet Full Monitoring (SFM) Inspection Device utilizes thermal imaging technology.

This is a non-invasive inspection technique that DIR Technologies introduced to the pharmaceutical industry earlier this year – to abandon random, inexact product sampling, providing a more accurate and less destructive testing process.

To achieve this, the SFM Inspection Device takes advantage of heat developed during the sachet/pouch sealing process, allowing for completely passive testing that in no way interferes with individual products or the overall production process.

Robert Hartwig, North American sales representative for DIR Technologies, said: “Inadequate inspection can have a substantial financial impact, as well as tarnish the reputation of a product manufacturer or contract packager. The Sachet Full Monitoring Inspection Device has the potential to eliminate imperfect packages from entering the marketplace. In doing so, the module quickly pays for itself in kind.”
