The First Potato Chip Flavoring Made From Latter's Sweet Onions

Specialty food manufacturer Inventure Foods has partnered with Vidalia Brands to develop first potato chip flavoring made from latter's sweet onions.

The flavouring is used in making Sweet Vidalia Onion Kettle Chips, which are the first licensed flavour introduction under Inventure's Boulder Canyon Authentic Foods line of kettle chips.

According to the company, Sweet Vidalia Onion Kettle Chips are minimally-processed using only real food ingredients.

Cooked in safflower and sunflower oils, the chips are said to be free of trans-fats, artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

Inventure Foods senior vice president and general manager Steve Sklar said: "Our partnership with Vidalia Brands has allowed us to develop a proprietary seasoning that brings the taste of America's favorite onion to the snack chip aisle of the grocery store for the first time.

"Pairing the natural sweetness of Vidalia onions with the irresistible crunch of our Boulder Canyon brand is a dream-come-true for potato chip lovers."

Boulder Canyon Sweet Vidalia Onion Kettle Chips are each one-ounce and contains 140 calorie serving. It is also cholesterol-free, gluten-free and certified Kosher.
