Artlandia Inc Has Released Artlandia Symmetrymill

Artlandia Inc, developer of pattern design software, has released Artlandia SymmetryMill, a new web application for making and sharing repeating patterns.

Create Great Repeating Patterns Quickly with SymmetryMill

SymmetryMill extends the pattern design arsenal with the latest, exceptionally easy-to-use tools for a wide audience ranging from fine artists and surface, textile, stationery, web, and other designers, to hobbyists and high school students. Integrated into the pattern design workflow is access to a new open web repository of repeating patterns.

SymmetryMill complements Artlandia's popular pattern design plug-ins SymmetryWorks and SymmetryShop that run in professional-grade Adobe applications (Illustrator and Photoshop, respectively).

SymmetryMill, on the other hand, requires only a web browser and is equally useful to professional designers and "the rest of us." Recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and other popular browsers are supported. The most accessible of the Artlandia offerings, SymmetryMill is also the most affordable and is available for a markedly lower subscription fee.

The new application creates seamless repeating patterns of all seventeen mathematically possible symmetry types from essentially any JPG, PNG, or GIFF image. The built-in blending algorithms ensure the creation of seamless patterns even when the result may otherwise show visible boundaries between pattern motifs. The standard color adjustment filters and the sharpen and blur filters modify the patterns in place. Viewing saved pattern snapshots automatically executes the exact recipes for creating the patterns and sets the appropriate values of all SymmetryMill controls.

Artlandia, Inc. develops, markets, and supports award-winning graphic design software that delivers both ease of use to beginners and unprecedented creative freedom to accomplished professionals.
