Cadillac Unveiled The New Twin-Turbo V-6 Engine Which Is Claimed to Reduce The Turbo Lag

Cadillac, a luxury automobile and SUV division of US automaker General Motors, has unveiled the new Twin-Turbo V-6 engine, which is claimed to reduce the turbo lag.

Company's Twin-Turbo will available with the 2014 CTS Vsport midsize luxury sedan and XTS Vsport full-size luxury sedan in the US later this fall.

The new engine is claimed to feature a new combination of smaller turbochargers, top-mounted throttle body and shorter air pathways that allows it to reduce the turbo lag, which causes delay in the delivery of power.

According to the company, the engines air flow design, which eliminates circuitous heat-exchanger tubing, is responsible for the most engine packaging efficiency that improves torque response time compared to the other air flow designs.

Twin-Turbo V-6 is mated with Cadillac's first eight-speed transmission generates an output of 420hp and 430lbft of torque and powers the 2014 CTS Vsport midsize luxury sedan and XTS Vsport full-size luxury sedan vehicles in the US.

The manufacturer has decreased the air flow routing volume by over 60% compared with a conventional design that features a chassis-mounted heat exchanger.

Features of the engine include two smaller turbochargers, integrated charge air cooling system and centrally located throttle body atop the engine.
